Jason Gillingham

Jason Gillingham est né en 1974 à Calgary, en Alberta. Il a une formation en sculpture à l'Université Concordia. Il vit et travaille à Montréal. Deux de ses livres d'art, Thus (2007) et Contextual Workings Documented (2010) font partie de la collection permanente de la Médiathèque du MAC.

Gillingham a présenté ses tissages dans plusieurs expositions collectives à Montréal, Québec, Vancouver, Edmonton et en Islande. En 2012, il prend part à une exposition avec UVA au Château Frontenac à Québec. En 2016, en plus de présenter deux expositions solo de ses tissages, son oeuvre Through Grace, a été mise aux enchères lors du bal annuel de la Fondation de l'Hôpital général du Lakeshore.

Jason Gillingham was born in Calgary Alberta in 1974. He attended Concordia University as a sculpture major in 2000-2001 and has worked in Montréal since. Two of his art books, Thus (2007) and Contextual Workings Documented (2010) can be found on permanent collection at the Médiathèque of the MAC.

Gillingham has shown his weavings in a number of group shows in Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Edmonton and Iceland. His series of weavings repurposing le Château Frontenac's old copper roof were among those works in the UVA group show in 2012 at the Château in Quebec City. As well as having two solo exhibitions of his weavings in 2016, one of his weavings, Through Grace, was auctioned at the Fondation de l'Hôpital général du Lakeshore annual benefit ball 2016.
